Inclusive Church

The Churches Together in Suffolk  Council recently considered how church could be made more inclusive. You can download a copy of the PowerPoint presentation by clicking here.

Church Unity

Unity is not a thing to possess but a way of possessing;
Unity is not a gift to be given but a way of giving;
Unity is not a topic to teach but a way of teaching;
Unity is not a theory to learn but a way of learning;
Unity is not an opinion to hold but a way of holding;
Unity is not a resolution of strife but a way of striving;
Unity is not a creed to preach but a way of preaching;
Unity is not a God to serve but a way of serving;
Unity is not a question to ask but a way of asking;
Unity is not an answer to seek but a way of seeking;
Unity is not a journey’s end but a way of journeying.

(written originally about “Peace…” by Richard Skinner from Prayers for Peacemakers,
edited by Valerie Flessati, Kevin Mayhew Ltd, 1988 and published in
Joy Mead’s Making Peace - Wild Goose Publications, The Iona Community)

Churches Together in Suffolk unites in pilgrimage those Churches in Suffolk which, acknowledging God's revelation in Christ, confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures, and, in obedience to God's will and in the power of the Holy Spirit, commit themselves:

  1. to seek a deepening of their communion with Christ and with one another in the Church,
    which is his body; and

  2. to fulfill their mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness and service in the world;

  3. to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Churches Together in Suffolk is a member of Churches Together in England.
We are known as one of the "intermediate bodies" (ie a county-level grouping).
